Drawings of Animals

For my first blog post I thought I would post some drawings that I had done this past week. The first three pages are gestures. These posed an interesting, and sometimes headtaking challenge, as I really had to think of how the animals were moving and how they were stretching and compressing their bodies.

These next three pages were done at Harvard's Museum of Natural History. (I would highly recommend taking advantage of their free entry on Wednesdays from 3-5 pm, or Sundays from 9 am-12 pm for Mass. residents)I really enjoyed drawing here, as I was constantly kept on my toes by drawing animals that I had never even seen before. There was so much to draw that I only made it through one room! I really enjoyed the character that came through in these drawings. These were done in pen.
